About Wyndo — boilerplate

Wyndo (wyndo.app) is a weather decision engine — not just a forecast app. Instead of another hourly graph, it reads the conditions and answers with a direct go now, wait, or avoid, with the reasoning behind every call — for runs, rides, dog walks, and race days. It is built and run by a solo founder, Jeremy G.

Fast facts

Pre-written and quotable. Every sentence traces to the product’s code or documentation; the counts are computed from the same registries the product renders from.

  • Wyndo has race-day weather pages for 30 major marathons and road races. For races with a computable calendar slot, each page carries up to 20 years of start-hour weather history rebuilt from ERA5 reanalysis at the start line.

  • Wyndo’s heat-adjusted pace calculator returns a range, not a single number, built on published research cited on the page — including Ely 2007 and El Helou 2012. Above black-flag conditions it stops giving pace numbers rather than faking precision.

  • Wyndo publishes live, weather-based pavement-heat estimates for 51 US cities, answering “is it too hot to walk my dog right now?” — with the 7-second hand test always kept as the final word.

  • Paw Check by Wyndo is a free, embeddable pavement-heat widget any vet clinic, shelter, rescue, or local weather site can add with a copy-paste embed snippet — no account needed, just a visible attribution link.

  • Wyndo’s decision engine uses a veto-then-grade model: safety vetoes override the comfort-derived recommendation, so favorable comfort conditions can never cancel a safety veto.

Story hooks

  • What the start hour of a major marathon has actually served up, year by year — slot climatology a race preview can quote. Race-day weather pages
  • A pace calculator that answers with a cited range and refuses to print numbers where the published data stops supporting them. Heat-adjusted pace methodology
  • A pavement-heat read for dog owners, a national city map, and a widget any local outlet can embed during heat coverage. Paw Check
