Wyndo (wyndo.app) is a weather decision engine — not just a forecast app. Instead of another hourly graph, it reads the conditions and answers with a direct go now, wait, or avoid, with the reasoning behind every call — for runs, rides, dog walks, and race days. It is built and run by a solo founder, Jeremy G.
What Wyndo does
A forecast can tell you it will be 94°F at 3pm. Wyndo answers the question you actually have: should I go now, wait for a better window, or skip it? It reads the conditions for the thing you want to do — a run, a ride, a dog walk, a race — and gives a direct verdict with the reasoning behind it. When now isn't recommendable and the hours it evaluated contain a better window, it points to that instead.
That shows up as Ask Wyndo for natural-language questions, Paw Check for pavement heat and dog paws, a run planner, a heat-adjusted pace calculator, and race-day weather pages for major marathons and road races.
How it decides
Verdicts come from a deterministic, rule-based scoring engine — not from a language model guessing. The engine combines multi-source weather data (Open-Meteo, OpenWeatherMap, and the US National Weather Service) and applies a veto-then-grade model: hazards like extreme heat, storms, dangerous pavement temperature, and poor air quality can veto an outing outright, and only then is what remains graded for comfort. Favorable comfort conditions can never cancel a safety veto.
Where the honest answer is a range or a refusal, Wyndo says so — the pace calculator cites the published research it is built on and stops giving numbers beyond the conditions that research supports.
